Analysis on Probiotic End Users

Frost & Sullivan, Oxford, U.K., has completed an analysis on probiotic end users. Valued at nearly $13 million in 2003, the total market for probiotic ingredients in applications for human consumption is currently growing at an estimated rate of 14%, according the analysis, however, uncertainty about recent EU proposals for new legislation on health claims has presented a major challenge to market participants.
